McMinnville Rodeo

As we always enjoyed the small town rodeos in Montana, Anna was excited to see what a larger town in Oregon would have. Atley’s friend Desmond came along too.

Traffic and parking was a little crazy before and after, but it was a fun rodeo. It wasn’t fun as smoothly as we’ve seen in Montana, and about the same turn out. McMinnville did have a huge fair and concert going the same weekend, though, so the total number of people there was much more.

Arena Update 2: Dirt Moving Completed

Wow. The bulldozer came back for one last day of moving dirt. The pad is now larger and the sacrifice area also has a nice flat area.

I’ll try updating this category with some pictures and video of the First day of dirt moving.

Archer’s First Boy Scout Camp

We’re very proud of Archer for spending a week of full days away from his parents at Scout Camp. And it turns out he’s a natural shot.

Every day he would come home with a another target full of bulls-eyes. (It’s a pretty large target for Tigers, but he’s very excited about being good at it. He got a “shots of distinction” certificate at the end of the week for making 5/5 bulls-eyes.

Here’s some photos of the last day, when us parents were invited for dinner and the campfire.

Trip to Montana 2019

After moving to Oregon a year ago, we are taking our first full trip back to visit friends and vacation.

It was great to see the mountains, lakes and especially all of our friends we missed. Thank you Venters and Shizukus for giving us places to stay. We love staying with you.

We got to float the swan river with the Venters and the Loves. We’d never even been to that river in the 13-15 years we lived there.

The kids’ wilderness base

Archer’s good (best?) friend, Blythe, was spending a day at our house. Blythe mentioned that he been learning to build with power tools so Anna suggested making a tree house or fort. We went around the property, until we found this great hollow to make into a base. We had a couple weeks of kids coming and helping set things up. Lots of brush cleaning and digging to get it, but the kids have done some good work.
